Wonder Village was created by Hannah and Charlotte, two home-educating mums who share a passion for imaginative play and the important role it has in childhood.

The pair first met at a local market, where Hannah was running her soaps and skincare stall. At the time, they were both preparing to begin home educating their eldest daughters, and what started as a chance meeting soon grew into a friendship. Over the years, they shared ideas, resources and countless conversations about learning, creativity and how children thrive when given the freedom to explore the world around them.

As parents, they often found themselves creating imaginative play experiences for their own children. Whether setting up role play activities at home, organising learning opportunities through play, or watching their children invent entire worlds from a few simple props, they saw first-hand how powerful imaginative play can be.

Wonder Village grew from those experiences.

Inspired by the places children naturally gravitate towards in everyday life, Hannah and Charlotte created a child-sized village where children can step into different roles, follow their interests and create their own adventures. From caring for animals in the vet and serving customers in the café, to delivering post, performing in the theatre or running the farm shop, every area has been carefully designed to encourage creativity, confidence and connection.

Unlike many children's activities, Wonder Village is built around child-led play. There are no screens, no flashing lights and no pressure to participate in a particular way. Children are free to explore the village at their own pace, moving between different areas, making friends, solving problems and developing new skills through play.

The village has been thoughtfully designed to feel engaging without being overwhelming, creating a welcoming environment where children can become fully immersed in their imaginations while parents enjoy watching them grow in confidence.

At its heart, Wonder Village is about giving children the time, space and freedom to play. Because childhood is full of magic, and some of the most important learning happens when children are simply allowed to imagine.
