Safeguarding Statement

Applies To: Mobile Role Play Village and Portable Soft Play Hire
Age Range: Under 4s – 8 years
Operating Location: Indoor venues (parties, schools and educational settings)

1. Commitment to Safeguarding

The business is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. The safety, wellbeing and protection of children is paramount in all activities delivered.

All activities are delivered in a manner that supports children to feel safe, secure and respected.

2. Supervision & Responsibility

Children’s Parties

  • Parents/guardians remain responsible for the supervision and care of their own children at all times.
  • Equipment is set up in open, visible spaces to ensure clear sight lines.
  • No child will be taken to a separate or enclosed area by a staff member.

Schools & Educational Settings

  • The school retains overall responsibility for pupil safeguarding.
  • Activities are delivered alongside school staff.
  • All instructions from the school’s Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) will be followed.

3. Staff Suitability

  • Staff working in school settings hold a current enhanced DBS check where required.
  • Staff are aware of basic safeguarding principles and appropriate conduct around children.
  • Professional boundaries are maintained at all times.
  • Staff do not engage in physical contact unless necessary for safety or first aid.

4. Safe Environment

  • Equipment is age-appropriate and regularly checked.
  • Play areas are arranged to avoid hidden or secluded spaces.
  • Clear behaviour expectations are communicated at the start of sessions.
  • Any concerns regarding behaviour or safety are addressed immediately.

5. Photography & Mobile Phones

  • Staff do not take photographs of children unless written permission has been provided in advance.
  • Personal mobile phone use by staff during sessions is avoided except in emergencies.

6. Reporting Concerns

If a safeguarding concern arises:

  • In a school setting, concerns will be reported immediately to the school’s Designated Safeguarding Lead.
  • At a private party, any immediate safety concern will be reported to the parent/guardian.
  • If a child is believed to be at immediate risk of harm, appropriate authorities will be contacted.

7. Review

This safeguarding statement is reviewed annually or following any significant change to operations or legislation.
